Riccardo Drigo was best known as a conductor of opera and ballet as well as a composer in these genres, but also composed a smaller amount of chamber music. This short, lyrical work for cello or viola and piano is representative of Drigo's clean compositional style. While not performed often, the Serenatina does receive regular performances, particularly on cello. |
